Sonoma County and the Napa Valley are recognized as the premier wine growing region and our five wineries, all small case producers, have garnered more than an equal share of awards for our distinctive hard-to-find wines using grapes from these regions. All of our wines are appellation specific and reflect the unique character of the soil and climate distinctive to that particular wine growing area. |
Surrounding the tasting rooms are the three renowned wine growing regions of Sonoma County: the Dry Creek, Alexander and Russian River Valleys. This intimate selection of small premium wineries also holds the distinction of being the only winery row of tasting rooms within Sonoma County and Napa where vineophiles can walk from wine tasting room to tasting room. |

Camellia CellarsWall Street Journal names Camellia Cellars 2003 Sangiovese one of the 12 Most Memorable Wines in Wine Country. "Camellia Cellars Sangiovese 2003, Merlo Vineyards, Dry Creek Valley ($24). Sangiovese, which is the great grape of Chianti, enjoyed a surge of popularity in California a few years ago, but we have found too many of them candy-sweet, clumsy and lacking the charm of the real thing from Italy -- and at a higher price, to boot. This is a big exception. It tastes like fleshy red fruit and earth, bursting with ripe berries, plums and cherries, but it has a dry finish with some bite." Dorothy J. Gaiter and John Brecher, The Wall Street Journal, September 16, 2005. |
